So children should suffer for the "sins of their fathers"? These people we are talking about likely came here as children, brought by their parents. They've likely gone to US public schools and want what children raised in the US often want to do...go to college.
What's YOUR solution for these kids?
Correct.
And punishing children for the sins of their fathers violates the basic tenets of Anglo-American jurisprudence declared un-Constitutional by the Court in Weber v. Aetna Casualty & Surety Co. (1972).
That case had to do with the rights of illegitimate children to inherit the wealth and property of their parents on par with their legitimate siblings. It has absolutely no application to this discussion.
Furthermore, if punishing children for the sins of their fathers violated the basic tenets of Anglo-American jurisprudence then Affirmative Action policies and racial considerations in education would be illegal.
Bush, Kerry, McCain all had "Affirmative Action". Being rich and connected opens doors for many undeserving. Look at McCain. Graduated 5 FROM THE BOTTOM out of a 899 graduating class. He had to be worst in every class. Not one, not two, but all. With a class that big, it's very possible he didn't share a single class with those four more stupid than him.
