It seems harsh when people sincerely believe they should defend somebody who is being arrested, but if we are going to have law and order in this country--a nation that cannot enforce reasonable laws is doomed to be ruled by anarchy--we have to throw the book at those who interfere with valid law enforcement.

No longer should we allow disrespect of the police and their authority when those LEOs are honorably doing their jobs. Those who interfere with them should be subject to severe consequences.

If you're hanging out with a gang of bank robbers when the police show up and arrest them, the odds are pretty good you'll be arrested too. And taken to the police station. If you have a verifiable alibi for your whereabouts when the robbery took place you might be released without being arraigned. Otherwise you'll likely be charged and have to defend yourself in court.

Any non citizen here legally is supposed to have documentation--a green card, visa or whatever--with him/her or there will be a record of it. Any citizen will be able to be proved a citizen and illegible for deportation.

But if you're hanging out with illegals, and you don't have a real ID or other documentation on you proving your legal status, you cannot blame the LEOs for rounding you up with the others. That isn't racist. That is common sense.
