I lived in California for a little over two years back in 1981 to about January of 1983. You're right. California does suck. I was glad to leave and I've never been back. Most likely will never go back - that is unless I turn into a liberal Democratic homosexual idiot and decide to move to San Fran... If you're sane, get out of there.

Look, take any state and examine what the gun laws are there. If it is anything other than Federal law, it isn't a place you want to live. Whether you care anything about guns or not, it is a good proxy for how the pols in that state treat the idea of liberty.
And CA sucks big gray donkey d*** in this regard. Other stinkers are MA, NJ, MD, IL, and WI. NY is close behind.

I live here and while it is not perfect, I'm a lot happier than when I lived in Florida, or Texas, or Arkansas. I miss New York and New England, but I'm staying right here.

I left in 1995, but returned after I retired. This is the greatest place on earth to live as far as weather and golf go. Since the government is going to have to reform or go under it can only get better in other areas.

I was thinking earlier today, "Why I don't want to live in California," and I came up with

- high taxes
- incompetent government
- expensive
- too crowded

I surprised myself because I have no idea why I started to think this. I would like to live out west again one day, and I have mentally ruled California out, though I enjoy visiting there.

Yes the inept & corrupt Socialist Democrats destroyed that once great state a long time ago. They have done everything wrong for so long. They have had a Democrat-controlled State Legislature for decades and that's where all their problems begin and end. California really is an Empire in ruins at this point. People out there just keep on voting for more inept Socialist Democrats though. So i guess they do get what they deserve in the end. They need to get rid of their Democrat-controlled State Legislature if they ever want to see any real improvements in their state. Even a Liberal-leaning Republican like Schwarzenegger is completely powerless with a Socialist Democrat-controlled State Legislature. It really is very sad to see what California has become.
