If High Speed Rail can't make it in Far Left Socialist California, why do libs like AOC think it can make it in the other 49 states?

I was still stuck in the "Golden" state....golden as in urine stained apparently, when the high speed rail was sold to the open mouthed dupes like a new sort of deodorant (New Trans-Stick: When you feel like you're a woman but your pits smell like a dude's).
Everything that was feared, massive cost over runs, length of the project, no real need for a corridor already over served by airline, etc. were cited by Newsom as a reason for killing the project but inexplicably a line will still be constructed between Merced and Bakersfield, which is absolutely pointless.
Who needs a high speed rail to go between two places no one especially wants to go to?

At any rate the failed bullet train is a perfect example of how California has been run into the dirt: A shiny new project pushed by ideologues with no real reason for being that cannot be built in a reasonable time or for a remotely reasonable cost.
It's California, the golden failure.
