It's sad, but true.

Water is an issue.

I'd love to see the report that shows how we can pump some of the mississippi over the rockies to the west.
 
Seems to me there ought to be a way to use solar energy to separate salt from seawater and convert it into potable water. But honestly I really don't want to give California any good ideas to help them survive, I just want California to fail, wither and die.
 
Story asks why it's going dry, doh, you want trees and grass that need water in an arid climate and that takes more water than you have

A decade ago, 2014 in fact, CA voters voted a multi-billion dollar plan to build more reservoirs/water storage. To date, none have been built.

They've refused desalination plants.

  • Rejection of a Major Project: In 2022, the California Coastal Commission unanimously rejected a proposed $1.4 billion desalination plant in Huntington Beach.



They do have the largest in the Western Hemisphere, the Claude "Bud" Lewis Carlsbad Desalination Plant in San Diego County, but that was opened a decade ago.
