CA Democrats Voting For A Bill That Allows Strangers To Kidnap Your Kid From School

Is this real?

Chances are....it is.

This is the last straw.

Are the Democrats in CA are trying to make it legal for strangers to kidnap your kid from their schools?

This one was a hard one to dig into. . . interesting.

A California parental rights group warns AB 495 could ease child kidnapping by redefining guardianship and caregiving roles.

Parental rights group warns Calif. bill could 'make kidnapping children' easier by redefining caregiver roles

It's a response to the gestapo's penchant for vanishing people off the street. Somebody's gotta be able to pick up their kids from school when that happens.

This bill would not be a thing without the MAGAt anti-immigrant fervor.

Holy shit on a shingle!! You people really love to go full blown hysteria over anything that the Democrats propose, especially if it involves California. Did you even bother to read the actual bill , or did you just watch the crazy ass loon ‘s rant on X. She is full of shit and the premise of your thread is bogus.

No random person will be allowed to waltz into a school and remove a child. Why do you people do this shit? You either know it’s a lie but decide to take the opportunity to toss some raw meat out , or you’re just plain stupid

This is what the bill actually does... Link in post #2

1) Under existing law, a caregiver who is 18 years of age or older and signs a caregiver’s authorization affidavit under penalty of perjury for a minor who lives in their home is authorized to enroll the minor in school and consent to school-related medical care on behalf of the minor. Under existing law, a caregiver who is 18 years of age or older, signs the caregiver’s authorization affidavit ....

This bill, the Family Preparedness Plan Act of 2025, would expand the type of person who is authorized to execute a caregiver’s authorization affidavit to include a “non-relative extended family member,” as defined, and grant them the same rights to authorize school-related medical care, as defined, for the minor that are given to guardians, as specified. By expanding who is authorized to sign a caregiver’s authorization affidavit for these purposes under penalty of perjury, this bill would expand the crime of perjury, thereby imposing a state-mandated local program.

This bill would authorize a court, in its discretion, to appoint a custodial parent and a person nominated by the custodial parent as joint guardians of the person of the minor, if the custodial parent will be temporarily unavailable due to specified circumstances, including, among other things, an immigration-related administrative action, as specified. The bill would make all records, petitions, orders, and documents related to these proceedings confidential, as specified.

Is this a way around illegals taking kids with them when they self deport? I can see a lot of kids disappearing suddenly if they allow this.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

  • Family Preparedness Plan Act of 2025:
This is the formal name of the bill.
  • Caregiver's Authorization Affidavit:
This is a legal document that allows someone other than a parent or legal guardian to make certain decisions for a minor, particularly regarding medical care and school-related matters.
  • Expanded Definition of Authorized Person:
AB 495 broadens the scope of who can be authorized under this affidavit. It includes "nonrelative extended family members," which is defined within the bill.
  • Rights Granted:
If authorized through the affidavit, these nonrelative extended family members would have the same rights as a legal guardian to authorize school-related medical care for the minor.
