Why More Than 1 3 of Americans Are Not Looking For Work
Data from the Pew Research Center, which looked into recent jobs reports from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, shows that a whopping 92 million Americans, or 37% of the civilian population older than 16, are “not in the labor force.” That means that they are neither employed or unemployed, but that they haven’t looked for a new job in some time. In fact, they have been out of the hunt for so long that they are no longer counted as “unemployed.”

"Out of the hunt for so long?" It's all about the current month. If you did not work or look in April you will not be classified as in the Labor Force (employed or unemployed), but not in the Labor Force.
92% of those not in the Labor Force don't want to work.

The reasons why the labor participation rate is so low is because of a myriad of reasons...including a factor for retiring baby boomers. But, that is by no means the full reason, nor are any of the bogus reasons the Bolshevik Democrats will give you as a deflection or an excuse.

The problem is Human Nature.

Almost all humans who have ever lived have sought for nothing else in life--but a Subsistence. The vast majority seeks it today . Its in our genes.

It is in our genes that, if provided a Subsistence--a large number of us will just sit on the Porch.

A Subsistence today means lodging, food, clothes, an old car, Obama phone, t.v. and, with minimal fudging to the vast array of federal welfare services, enough left over for beer and cigarettes.

And, the money gets better and better with each kid who don't know who his father is.

Why endure the stress and hassle of a job and a Boss? When you can just sit on the Porch instead?

This is one area where there are no moral facts, even with a McCarthy era phrase in our pledge; Persons are either gainfully employed or they are not in any at-will employment State.

And what are the options in a not at-will employment state?

The libs will bleat about retiring baby boomers. But that's bullshit. There were a huge number of people who "retired" at 62 to take early SS benefits because they couldnt find jobs.
And the longer people stay out of the workforce the less likely they are to get a job.

Do you have their names? I don't believe you...

Trying to boost your post count again?

I consider our "shell game" with Statism regarding unemployment numbers to be anecdotal evidence of Institutional false witness bearing and that form of abomination of hypocrisy, regardless of any moral facts.

How many? And how do you determine who retires at 62 because they can't find a job vs other reasons?

This is true.

You look at trends before and after the recession.

And 83% of statistics are made up.

I have. Please point out what s specifically you say supports your claim. Oh, and why you think the reason for retirement matters.
