Nothing in Captain Marvel moves the franchise forward. Captain Marvel took place in the 1990ās after which nothing significant happened to the extent that no one remembers this character, knows who she is ,or that she even exists at all. They actually for some stupid reason changed established dialogue from past movies to shoehorn this character into an already established story arc. Example: Captain America being acknowledged as the first Avenger,Thor being acknowledged as the first encounter SHIELD had with other worldly beings, Turning Furyās eye injury into comic relief, dumbing down Ronin and making him less of a threat etc... all of which added nothing of value. Just change for the sake of change. Why wouldnāt Fury have paged her when NY was attacked by Alienās previously? After all she took out Roninās soldiers single handedly in the past. Why does he never acknowledge her existence even though he is forming the Avengers and we are to believe he got the idea from meeting her? It just stupid and bad writing.Doesnāt change the fact that Captain Marvel was a poorly written and executed movie that rewrote dialogue and plot points from previous movies ...like The Winter Soldier ...for no reason at all and those rewrites were contrived and added nothing of value to any of the storylines. She was not needed in Endgame and she added nothing of value to it either. Brie also has zero chemistry with the other Avengers and basically zero personality in a sea of superheroās that are more interesting and have more like ability and charm.GOTG didnāt need Captain Marvel to tie them to the MCU. Infinity War did that. A movie Captain Marvel wasnāt even in.Captain Marvel wasnāt needed to establish anything in the Guardians of the Galaxy. Guardians of the Galaxy told their own story.
All Captain Marvel did was diminish the Guardians of the Galaxy storyline by painting Ronin as a weak villain and not a threat by having this idiot so over powered she destroyed his whole fleet single handedly and didnāt break a sweat.
The whole ending fight scene in Captain Marvel was stupid and cartoonish.
No, Captain Marvel helped give a greater backstory to characters in GotG, and also helped tie them into the current MCU. This is going to go on all night if you can't grasp the totality of things and keep arguing single points. You can't see the forest for all the trees.
Ronan was pretty weak until he got the power stone... to think he could stand toe-to-toe with a being given powers from one of the infinity stones would be quite silly.
Yes... because Captain Marvel presented the backstory to the Star Force, who Ronan was and why he did what he did in GotG... and
INTRODUCED THE KREE AND SKRULL WAR INTO THE MCU.
HELLO??? Introducing the Kree and Skrull into the MCU in Catpain Marvel allows Disney a wide range of villains that can be introduced in Phase 4, like Kang the Conqueror, or the Secret Wars story arc.
She Is this big bad ass ( allegedly) but didnāt help save NY...or help defeat Ultron or fight in Infinity War, but now TOTB are going to half assed throw her into Endgame just because.
You just proved you don't know near as much as you think you do. It is quite clearly explained why she wasn't on Earth until Fury paged her. There is an entire galaxy out there that needs defenders, many of which do not have people on them like the Avengers. That would be like saying Green Lantern has no place in and future DC movies because he wasn't helping the JL fight Steppenwolf or Doomsday, despite the fact that Lanterns are tasked with helping to defend an entire section of the galaxy.
She didn't cause them to rewrite parts of the Winter Soldier, as a lot of the action shown in Endgame was things that was never shown in the movies. You also can't grasp the idea of moving from one phase to another in the MCU, where characters are needed to transition the franchise.
The reason for this character probably comes down to the fact that they wanted to cash in on the popularity of Wonder Woman but Marvel has no established stand alone female characters on her level of popularity. Canāt push your feminist agenda without one. So they manufactured this storyline based on an unpopular and barely known character.
Then they made the mistake of hiring Brie Larson to play her. An actress with no charisma, charm or personality, which really shows in her performance. Her acting style is basically multiple versions of resting bitch face mixed in with bitchy commentary.
The idea that this abrasive no personality character is going to lead the Avengers into the future is pretty damn laughable.
