Congrats to UK for finally finishing with EU.

I watched the last speech that Farage gave to EU assembly, and he was spot on with every word he said. I posted the speech earlier, here is once again... it starts on 52 minute mark. Farage's speech had that dry with his kind was once famous for. Well fucking done.



What struck me most was the reaction of some other MEPs. How can Europeans see the absolute hatred and disdain the EU has for their flags, proxies of their histories and cultures, and not jump ship immediately? This blows my mind. I always associated Euros with pride, but is it that they are this simpering and spineless that they’ll bow down to a transnational committee that openly despises them? Where is the pride? Every time I watch the EU in action I become more confused by the human cattle auction.

Good for the UK. I think that economically they’ll be worse off for it next couple of years until they negotiate their own trade deals, but that’s a fair trade for freedom from the EU’s mantle of aristocratic and antinational tyranny.

Less pathetic I would say the old Brits forced the young Brits to go old ways with young legs. But still no one knows what kind of way this will be. The current transitional arrangement will end in the end of the year ... So the question still is: "Quo vadis Britannia?"

Oh by the way : Trumps slogan "USA first" is a slogan from the Brits of the year 1740.

Brits voted in 2016 to leave, and leftist did what leftist usually do. They can never accept defeat even if that means to drag whole country into abyss, they'll do it. Ha I would love to! but I think it's only the English-speaking countries that are not sheep ...

I hear from business associates that many in France are fed up with the Islamic influence. Is that not true?

French are surprisingly pretty open to it. What they're not open to is being treated as second class citizens in their own county in favor of migrants that are imported under refugee label, and having to comply with never ending rules dictated from EU, top down.

With UK in, France could've lead EU towards something they once praised, "liberté, égalité, fraternité", and maybe counter German dominance over EU, but they joined Germans instead, hoping they would be on "ruling side" of Europe. With UK gone, France is realizing they became irrelevant, but they're also stuck in their own immigration problems along with EU bureaucracy. For them, if they desire to survive, they should follow Brits, otherwise they would be eaten alive.

Here is an example. EU is proposing free trade agreement in between EU and Africa, by creating single Euro-African economic zone. How insane that is?

It is true that they could tap into 1.5 billion consumers worth some $20 trillion in value over time, but they will also have to completely open borders for free flow of products... and people.

Back to what you said... Anyone who would disagree with this proposal will be labeled as racist and probably be pushed out of any negotiations, or completely out of politics. Even if there are EU members countries that are perhaps opponents of this idea, their vote wont count, they will shove it down their throats and force them to accept it, just as they forcing everything else upon them.

I think Brits dodged the bullet just in time.

The civil right to vote was ignored of the Brits, who had lived 15 years or longer outside of GB. The result of the referendum was in general "We don't know". And this is still the result. But on the other side are 50% of all Brits frustrated that the other 50% of the Brits had forced them to have to be solidary with them. And whatever the politics of the USA will be in case of Great Brtain and/or the European Union - everyone, who is not "geistig umnachtet" (~mentally deranged), knows this politics will be lousy. The USA is for no one a reliable partner any longer. And what GB was not able to do during the last 3½ years, the UK will be able to do now in the next 11 month? Under the "larifari" (~¿rubbish man?) Johnson? I doubt on this. For Germany the situation in an EU without GB will for sure not become more easy. We will miss the Brits. Brits and Germans had often very big common elements and interests in European politics.

The whole modus of this referendum was wrong - better to say it was a spoof of the British democracy. Including the Brits, who lived since more than 15 years not in Britannia, only about 100,000 votes were for the Brexit. This is 50:50. So about 75% (3/4) voted (25% did not vote) and from this 3/4 voted 1/2 for the Brexit: 3/4*1/2=3/8. So 3/8 (~37.5%) voted for the Brexit and 5/8 (~62.5) did not vote for the Brexit. This is for such an important question not a satisfying mayorite. Normally such an important question (comparable with an important change in a constitution or a question about war and peace) needs a 2/3 mayorite.
By the way: The worst spoof of democracy had happened in Scotland, where a short time before this referendum the Scotts had decided to stay in Great Britain - also because otherwise lots of them thought they would lose their membership in the EU (what was by the way a fake argument - a lie).
