I honestly think he reacted poorly, partly because he was hit and dragged by another driver. But I also think that he put himself in a bad position. Officers are trained not to stand in front of vehicles for exactly this reason. You would think he would have learned his lesson after the first time, but that’s not the case with this guy.

And that’s not just me saying this. Police experts have said the same about this particular incident. I posted a few links earlier. I can dig them up if you like.

I don’t think he’s evil. I think he’s incompetent. I think Good made a foolish mistake, but I think this kind of reaction was completely unnecessary.

You may be right but I also take into consideration that he actually was not just standing there. He had just stopped there after having walked from the other side of the vehicle.

It looks to me that he paused there when the other officer commanded her to get out of the car and reached for the door handle. And it's important to remember that when he paused there, she was backing up. If she had continued the backing turn as she was, he would no longer have been standing in front of the vehicle. This might be why he paused where he did.
But then she suddenly put it in drive and punched the gas. And something else to consider: while she ultimately was trying to escape, at the moment she punched the gas, the front wheels were pointing more or less straight ahead. She actually hits the gas before the front tires were in a right-turn orientation.

At the very least I think we can say that both of them made bad decisions that day.

Really? Go to any white college and the black student body is somewhere between 4 and 8% and the majority if them are athletes. It's funny that the racist don't complain about black athletes being 85 or 90% of the football or basketball team, why is that?
