The simple mistake she made was being distracted. When she backed up, you can see in the video, there was no one in front of her car... Also when she began to slowly move forward, she was very likely looking at the cop pulling on her door and sticking his hand inside the car. Anyone would do that wondering exactly what THAT cop was doing.

You seem to be saying that it's no big deal as he didn't fall down.
She was accelerating at the same time she hit him and even after being shot the car continued to accelerate until it slammed into the parked car. Most likely a continuation of what she was doing even while she was shot as in a reflex action.
