I have a nephew who was a prime candidate to act out like this. I always encouraged his parents to keep any and all firearms out of reach of him because he's a dangerous, violent psycho. Luckily, he moved far away ... but sadly he reproduced and now has two children who live in a horrible environment.
I'm not in favor of involuntary sterilization but would have been a prime candidate.

There was a pretty damned graphic video on X showing one of the shooters capping his partner then putting a bullet in his own head, but it's been taken down. The shooter live-streamed the whole thing.
