Let me clear up something about this statement.

I believe (and have admitted) that Trump is the biggest con artist around, but that is nowhere close to being "the most politically astute politician". Astute politicians are successful at what they promise (even when those promises are lies). Trump has the worst record on accomplishing promises of any other president, meaning he is not successful at being president. He was successful at "getting to be" president, but all it takes to do that is to "con people".
