The Bush family was part of the Washington "establishment" that took care of it's own. Bush does Joe Biden a favor and then Joe owes Bush. Hunter Biden had no experience that would have been an asset to Amtrak. He was Joe Biden's son and that was the only thing that got him that job.

You call it the "Establishment", I call it "the people who make things work and know how to run things." In Trump's first term, he had enough of these people to keep him from screwing shit up too badly.

Frankly, AmTrak worked just fine under Bush and Hunter's mentorship.

As opposed to Trump, who slashed funding and made it a lot worse. Imagine how bad it was when they had to shut down the airlines due to Covid and there wasn't enough AmTrak to pick up the slack.
