The pardon doesn't apply to future crimes, like when he's called up before Congress to testify in his father's trial, and lies his ass off. The way Biden pardoned his son now gives the Trump administration full reign to go after Joe Biden and prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law, for those crimes he committed while he was Vice President.

But the difference is that Sleepy Joe pardoned someone who was being prosecuted by his own Hand Picked Attorney General and Joe complained that Hunter was being picked on.

Hell, he was being picked on by the DOJ, and Biden could have told them to quit at any time and pardoned Hunter at any time.

Instead they continued with an expensive charade for solely political causes. People were forced out of their homes to serve on a jury over a case that Biden and Garland knew in advance was pointless.
