Best case scenario for the country is Smith writes a report, submits it to Garland, who then releases it to the public. For obvious reasons trump will try to prevent that from happening.

He’d have no way to prevent that, even if you wanted to which you have no evidence of. Again I ask, which one of them is going to appear before Congress and the Senate? Never mind, trick question. Both will appear if Congress and the Senate called them to appear. if they resist the subpoena, they can be perp walked into the capital building.

Repubs in Congress won't be calling Smith to testify about his investigation. At least not in public. His testimony and his report are not anything trump wants in the public domain. What he wants is for the House Crazies to find something to discredit Smith with. Kinda like what you've done to Mueller. Try to diminish him in some way in order to cast doubt on his work product.

That's basically what Special Counsel Smith did. His request was to drop the case because of DOJ policy and NOT because of lack of merit. That it NOT be dismissed with prejudice, meaning that charges can be refiled once Trump leaves office.
