Commentary:
Now that's what I'd call downsizing....
If we compare the dollars collected after the cuts with the dollars collected before the cuts.
There'll probably very little difference.

Now I can cheat on my taxes with no cares or fears of being caught, just like Trump.

Actually, tips go unrepoarted, which is why you are allowed to pay waitresses sub-minimum wage, because it is assumed they get tips that go unreported.

I waited tables in college. All my credit card tips were reported. Maybe that was just the restaurant chain where I worked. Cash tips were reported as well, but that was left up to us to report how much. Yes, typically people reported about 8% of their sales, even if they received more.

Not sure why you are so keen to punish the poor. Do your neighbors at the trailer park make you that angry?

Not sure why you are so keen to punish the rich. Do those guys outside your ghetto not tip you enough after their shoe shine?

Businesses in the real world kind of suck, guy.

You live in a fantasy world. Politicians love gullible fools like yourself who seem joyful to pay them to be inefficient and to squirrel away much of the money themselves and become multi-millionaires on 175k/yr salary. Stay ignorant and worship your government masters. The rest of us normal people aren’t so naive.

Well, here's your problem.... In most places, it's typical to tip 15-20%. So if only a tip of 8% is being calculated, they are undercollecting.

Personally, I'd love to get rid of tipping altogether, pay service staff a fair wage, and be done with it.

Not sure why you are so keen to punish the rich.

Because the rich are scum. They have more than they really need and they want more and more. Greed is a sin, one of the cardinal ones according to the crazy nuns who taught us.

We're not talking about politicians, who are often rich before they go into politics, guy. That $175K salary is often a step down, when it take millions to even run for Congress.

I've worked in both the private and public sectors. As far as worker efficiency, I just don't see the difference.

The only difference is while public sector workers were smart enough to keep their unions and protections, private sector workers let theirs get bartered away with "Right to work" and "at will" employment.

It's kind of like when your house gets burned down, instead of wanting to go after the arsonist, you want him to burn down your neighbor's house.

Everyone should pay their fair share in taxes, guy.

I meticulously record all the revenues I make from my two businesses and my straight job and then I pay an accountant to make sure I got it all right.

I can't get worked up because someone who cheats on their taxes gets caught.

Well, you'd be wrong again, Cleetus.

  • The IRS is scrutinizing tip income more closely since it estimates that 84% of all tip income totalling approximately $500 million goes unreported annually.

We have 90K people scrutinizing 160 million tax returns. That means each Agent has to review 1700 returns.

As for the tax code, I'm all for simplifying it. Huge taxes on the rich and no ******* deductions.

Except there's really nowhere to cut.

Our current 7 Trillion dollar budget includes.

1.5 Trillion for Social Security
1 Trillion in Medicaid
1 Trillion interest on the debt
800 Billion for defense
600 Billion for Medicaid
400 Billion for Veteran's services

So that's 5.3 TRILLION just on things we really don't have much wiggle room on.

Out of the 1.7 Trillion that is left, you have things like roads, research, education. Sure we can slash those, but then don't be surprised when China passes us up.
agreed. Not sure what that has to do with my post

Because the rich are scum.

Stereotype much? I know plenty of very moral people that you would consider rich.

Greed is a sin, one of the cardinal ones according to the crazy nuns who taught us.

So is envy. You and your party are flush with it.

I've worked in both the private and public sectors. As far as worker efficiency, I just don't see the difference.

Again, you are in the minority with this opinion.

Yes, cash tips were often under-reported. Credit card tips were not, which accounts for the vast majority.

No you wouldn't.

Maybe you think you might want that, but you'd be bitchin if it actually came down that way.

The tip system ensures promptness from your waitress. If they are in a union, their jobs are protected, waiting on people and getting food on the diners' tables becomes a non-priority. There are frycooks and dishwashers in the back to flirt with, **** the customers, the waitress is still getting paid.

If they were "moral", they'd give away their money to the poor like Jesus said to.

But they hate Gays and Mexicans, so that makes them moral to you.

You said you live in a condo. You have stated that you have a vacation cabin. There are many starving people in the world who don’t have a roof over their heads. Why don’t you sell your cabin and donate the proceeds? Why not sell your condo and move into a trailer and donate the proceeds? Yeah, I didn’t think so. It is all relative and you are just plain envious.

It is the same principle of paying sales guys a commission. It is amazing how much motivation that provides.

It is cheating to take advantage of all legal avenues available to pay less tax? Who knew?

Isn't that what those Christian Jesus freaks are supposed to do?
Why does Trump( the fake Christian), not do as Jesus says?

According to JoeB131, it is the moral thing to do. I guess this morality rule only applies to those he considers “rich”. He and most Democrats fails to realize that they are “rich” by many standards around the world.

Again, like everything with Democrats, it’s good for ye but not for thee.

And yes, for us Christians, we are supposed to help those that are less fortunate. That doesn’t mean blindly giving money to the government to pocket and blow while giving what’s left to the “poor” groups they see fit.

Yer hate of minorities is most apparent in yer Christian love.

Yer hate of minorities is most apparent in yer Christian love.

Hate of minorities? Where did that come from? Enforcing immigration law is not hate for minorities. My Christian church most certainly doesn’t preach anything about hate for minorities.

If George Floyd evolved to be a better person, there would be no questions. There are men who had the same path of Floyd who have. And the system can work in that way. Christianity is not being a pure sucker for a man's life of endless evil. Christ got angered at times. And you use Christianity against itself. The wrongs of people in the past you have every right to question. In your world Mary Magdaline should be whoring as Christian love. The money changers are all right. Those two ways told you what Christ was.

Christianity is a nice piece of Judean-Hellenistic mythology. It has a great message, one that humans can't obtain because it's inhuman. Humans love to fight; this thread and this website is a perfect example.
