BREAKING: Columbia anti-Israel protester Mahmoud Khalil can be deported, judge rules

The South is a dump. It would be a third world country if it wasn't part of the US.
So that's why the Tesla Gigafactory is in Texas? Is that why Georgia has a bustling film industry? Is that why Florida has a majority of the launchpads for NASA?

A dump, you say? Silence, you charlatan.

Wrong again. Green card holders can be deported if it is determined that they are involved in activities that pose a threat to the US. Inciting violence falls into that category.

You may want to let all your buddies know that so they will stop moving here and buying very expensive homes when they retire. I have new neighbor at my vacation home that did just that. They seem nice, but they don't have that huge chip on their shoulder like you do because they are part of the successful class as opposed to being envious of them.
That comes into play in the work world, too. When my client was at the C-level, and I engaged with them directly, they were respectful and were happy to recognize the skill I brought to the task since they already were secure. It was was I had to deal with middle managers who had to prove they were “better than me” that problems arose as they micro-managed every aspect and made unnecessary corrections.

Apple heiress Laurene Powell Jobs, Google founder Eric Schmidt, and the George Soros-backed Tides Foundation are among the Democrat heavyweights bankrolling the anti-Israel charity of activist Kamau Franklin, who called Elias Rodriguez’s alleged assassination of two Israeli diplomats in Washington, D.C., a "morally righteous" act.

Franklin runs Community Movement Builders, an Atlanta-based nonprofit that promotes "liberation" ideology for black Americans, Palestinians, and other groups. The organization embraces radical rhetoric in support of those causes, referring to police as "pigs" and calling the state of Israel "the result of a war crime." The Heising-Simons Foundation, funded by prominent Democratic donors Mark Heising and Liz Simons, gave $100,000 to Community Movement Builders. The Tides Foundation, supported heavily by Soros, gave around $100,000 to Community Movement Builders for "equity" programs, tax records show.

Franklin also serves as treasurer for the Black Voters Matter Action Fund PAC, the Washington Free Beacon reported. Soros has contributed $2.4 million to the PAC, which spent heavily in support of Harris and Sen. Raphael Warnock (D., Ga.). New Georgia Project, an organization by Warnock and professional Democratic candidate Stacey Abrams, gave $50,000 to Community Movement Builders in 2021.

Since I'm turning over a new leaf here, I'm gonna want to see what kind of evidence Rubio presented that convinced this judge he was deportable. "Meeting the burden of proof" for a judge is a pretty high standard. I am a proponent of First Amendment rights, so I really would like to know how the evidence was so compelling that it caused the judge to see past Khalil's First Amendment rights.
Student visas prohibit you from protesting against the US Government. If you’re on a student visa they can kick you out for basically any reason. Doesn’t mean they should, but they can.

Then have a trial in front of a jury of his fellow NY Residents and prove that he did that.

We can introduce into evidence all the pictures of slaughtered Palestinian babies.

they aren't my buddies.

Someone who can buy a mansion didn't pay his fair share.

Wow, so all these ideas must really scare you, eh?

We don't prosecute people for ideas. Otherwise, we could lock you up for Wingnut terrorism.

Fellow residents with your mindset? Yeah, that is exactly what all anti-US criminals want.

We can introduce into evidence all the pictures of slaughtered Palestinian babies.

What would that have to do with him inciting violence in the US?

It is curious that you and many in the UN believe Hamas' account of activities in Gaza.

Someone who can buy a mansion didn't pay his fair share.

Wrong again.

Nah. Thought crimes are more the realm of college academia, a la the place Khalil attended classes.

Moreover, this is America, but we don't allow people to spread hateful ideologies around here. Think the KKK, the Nazis, the Communist Party. We have a habit of weeding out and organically destroying hateful speech like that.

Think about it. The KKK lynched blacks and burned crosses in their yards. The Nazis genocided the Jews, the Communists were nearly responsible for WWIII.

Ideologies like that are violent and incompatible with American culture, and ther Pro-Palestine movement is slowly morphing into the same.

You read too much of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, Joe.

Of course we do. Our president spreads hateful ideologies, why shouldn't everyone else enjoy the same freedom?

What would that have to do with him inciting violence in the US?

Showing what people of conscience are protesting?

You guys seem to think the protests are the problem and not the ******* genocide.

Um, guy, if he supposedly committed a crime in New York then that's where they need to put him on trial

Hamas lies. The UN lies. They are antisemites. You haven't figured that out yet?

This is a case that will be heard by an immigration judge. The hearing can be moved at the feds discretion.

Right, everyone is an anti-Semite, and the Israelis never do anything bad.

This is a case that will be heard by an immigration judge. The hearing can be moved at the feds discretion.
Why, because Trump knows he can't win in NY?

Hey, the difference between Mahmoud and Trump.

Trump has actually been convicted of felonies. Maybe we should deport him, although I can't think of a country I dislike enough to wish him on.

He had his day in court and his lawyer made his case judge made his decision have a safe trip home.

Wrong.
The judge ruled in Khalil's favor.
He not only was released, but the judge ruled he can't be deported.

Wrong.

First of all, since the word "Semitic" means "of Arab origins", from Shem, the fabled son of Noah who was to have fathered all Arabs.
So it does not mean Jewish.

Second is that clearly Israel is the illegal terrorists.
The Zionists who started all the violence.
Why else could Menachim Begin have blown up the British peacekeepers in the King David Hotel unless he wanted to start massacring hundreds of native villages like Deir Yassin, and he knew the British would have stopped that.

The case has been heard, and the judge ruled in Khalil's favor.

Sure, but since we are a country that values individual rights over arbitrary collective punishment, I will ask: Did he kill any Jews? It's one thing to chant "kill the Jews" in protest, and another to command a group of people to do it, and even another to do it alongside them.

Like I said, I want to see the evidence Rubio presented to the judge. I'm not necessarily convinced his case was that airtight.

No one ever chanted, "Kill the Jews".
Many of the protestors against Israel, like me, are Jewish.

If you were Jewish, you would know that Zionism is heresy.
When the Romans beat the 2nd Jewish rebellion around 160 AD, the response was the Rabbinical Diaspora Decree.
It said that Jews had sinned and were being punished.
We are supposed to then leave the Mideast and atone for the sins of arrogance and pride.
We are not supposed to return to the Mideast until the coming of the Messiah is proof we have been forgiven.

By stealing Palestine from the real native owners, the Polish and Russian refugees have desecrated thousands of years of atonement.

Because that's where Khalil is being held. The case was tried in a relevant venue.

Louisiana is not a "relevant venue".
Columbia University is in New York, not Louisiana.
Not only is the travel a waste of time and money, but all the witnesses and lawyer are in New York.
New York is the immigration center of the whole country, like Ellis Island.

Good to hear a ruling from a judge that understands the situation.
It won't be long before a combination of pro-Palestinian leftists hellbent on dividing this nation get onto this thread and complain, as well as individuals who have no actual knowledge of the ongoing turmoil over there, jumping onboard to also protest. For those people, I'll put these actual facts out:
1. For the "Queers for Palestine" crowd, fact: To Hamas and most Palestinians, homosexuality is punishable by death. Period. The same holds true in Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, et cetera. Why? Because the Quran and Sharia rule, with an iron fist.
2. Why Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria and Iran want a complete genocide on "all" Jews, especially those in Israel: It's about "subjugation not territory." Definition of subjugation: To bring about domination or control by conquest. Islam is a "conquering religion."
3. As for Khalil, he came on a student visa, which means he comes knowing that he is just a "guest" and not entitled to the same rights as citizens, so must behave properly to stay. It's the same principle as when you invite a guest over to your house. If they start causing problems, you can toss them out. Foreign "guests" on student visas cannot actively support known terrorist organizations and calling for the downfall of the nation they are in a guest of.

That is just lies.

1. It is Judaism that stones women for adultery and throws gays off buildings. The Quran says to only use violence in defense. Sexual crimes are to be punished by god, not men.
Sodom and Gamora were destroyed by god, not men.

2. It was the Palestinians who invited the Zionists. There is zero history of violence between Jews and Moslems. In fact, Moslems always use Jewish Vizers. The Jews supported Mohammed when he was attacked by the Meccans, and the Jews fought against the Crusades. The Quran forbids conquest, and Moslems never invaded anyone.
The violence in Palestine was started entirely by Menachim Begin blowing up the British peacekeepers in the King David Hotel.

3. Anyone who does not understand that all humans are supposed to have the same rights, does not believe in a republic. Guests are legally supposed to have identical rights to citizens, and it is only privileges like Social Security that they don't get.
If one understands what inherent rights of a republic are, then you have to support the indigenous land owners that are the Palestinians, against the invading Zionists.
The "downfall" of the US depends on whether or not they follow the law and support individual native rights like they should, or they become corrupt, paid, puppets of the wealthy Zionists?

I believe you are right, the real question is did he do anything "actionable", did he call for others to commit crimes? If his only offense was riling up the student body, I'm not sure that meets the threshold of deportation.

It sill comes down to some archaic legal ruling about foreigners fomenting unrest against the United States, and whether this was that. Legally, probably not.

By supporting Israel, the US is running counter to hundreds of valid UN resolutions against crimes by Israel. The US is complicit in those war crimes. The US must stop, and everyone should support the law instead, which means defending the native Palestinians.
They are the only ones with a right to be there, since they historically own the all the land and have the only deeds and titles.
Israel is mostly Polish and Russian invaders who blew up the British peacekeepers in the King David Hotel.
