Not sure the cause at this time. Here is a link where there are some videos.

No mention yet that it's all caused by global warming?
Nope, they are blaming 1 inch snow fall and a warmer than usual fall........(they aren't going to mention that winter has been coming later) with GUSTS of 100 mph wind.

Apparently the winds, knocked down power lines-----------that let grass with little snow on fire and continue to spread the fire quicker covering 1600 acres so far...

I'm in Estes Park about 35 miles away...them winds was no joke.

On the Great Plains there is nothing between he North Pole and the Rio Grande to block the winds, so they can come in pretty fast and hard, bounce off the Rockies and head for Oklahoma and Texas.

Dad says "Nothing between here and the North Pole but a three wire fence..."

What terrible photos! Big, nice houses burning by the hundreds: one subdivision of 360 houses lost ALL of them. And no time: just authorities yelling, "Get out, get out! Drive East!" I feel quite bad about this.
