Former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro accused of attempted coup after his 2022 election loss
Jair Bolsonaro, the former president of Brazil, was one of 37 people the country’s federal police recommended for charges that include attempted coup d’état after the 2022 election that Bolsonaro lost.
In a statement from Brazil's federal police, Bolsonaro and others are accused of violent abolition of the Democratic state of law, coup d’état and being a criminal organization.
The final police report caps nearly two years of speculation about Bolsonaro’s role in the election-denying movement that culminated in riots by his supporters that swept the capital of Brasilia in January 2023, just a week after his rival and now President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva took office. Many protesters said they wanted to create chaos to justify a military coup.

We had it right for a while. POT leadership denounced trump. Mitch McTurtle went to the well of the Senate floor and said the obvious, trump was responsible for Jan. 6.
This, after oddly voting to acquit him. Or not so oddly if you are familiar with McTreason's treachery.
And there was this from McCarthy.
After dragging his feet for months AG Garland finally assigned a SC to investigate trump's role in the scheme to retain power. Smith's indictment spelled out the lock tight case in granular detail.
By the time trump's lackeys on the SC stepped in the right wing sound machine had made members of trump's mob in to heroes, Don an innocent bystander, Jeffrey Clark and John Eastman were stuffed down the memory hole, and trumples began to say the most egregious betrayal of a prez's oath in US history was no big deal.
Why did Brazil get it right? Maybe there's no Faux News there.
