Seems Moss things he is the greatest and Rice is not to happy about it

I going to say it out loud. I do not like SF and do not like Rice. Still when it comes to sports, I am a fair minded person.

Jerry wants to bank his argument on total numbers as he played for 22 years and Randy only paid for 14. You really can't have a fair discussion just on total numbers as Jerry played more years. Football is a team sport. There are many factors that come into play. So to compare the two then you have to take the stats and average it out

Rice averages about 74 receptions a year
Moss averages about 70 a year
okay slight nod to Rice

Yards per year average
Rice about 1040 yards
Moss about 1093 yards

Yeah that what I am talking about. Throw it up there and let me get it

TD average

Rice average is about 9 TD a year
Moss averaged 11 per year

I am going to ignore super bowls as any Team Moss played for was probably never in a super bowl
Oh well my prerogative

The best Moss

All thing equalized

PS San Francisco is in the hated state of California

PS I like world cup soccer but don't watch regular season games

And your a raider fan?

They were terrific receivers, with awards and recognition by the bucketful.

Jerry Rice did have the additional benefit of great coaches and quarterbacks and the "West Coast" offense, for his career.

Not a 49ers fan but have to go with Rice he was a great leader on the field and in the locker room and never brought the baggage and distractions Moss did. Moss was a great reciever no question on that but his attitude really hurt his team at times.

Pro football is dead to me so I dont care who the greatest receiver is or was

Moss' attitude stunk....great...but not the greatest
For sure not the greatest.Rice without question was better.People forget that his final years were played with the Raiders who would have gone on to the Super Bowl his first year there with him had they not had that playoff game against the cheatriots stolen from them by the refs and they then made it to the Super Bowl the next season despite the fact they got there in Spite of their pathetic defensive coordinator they had, notbecause of him, their defense gave up as much as they scored, the offense had to bail them out all the time those years he was there.

Rice was better than Moss but I would have to go with Larry fitzgerald as the greatest ever.the guy has had some shitty teams and some shitty quarterbacks most his career with the cardinals yet he is not that far behind Rice as the most catches in history, that is incredible under those circumstances.

Candyass is a FAKE Raiders fan. He obviously lives in Nevada and is only a Raiders fan now because of that,Ask anybody around here, prior to this year,he had zero, zilch interest in the Raiders in years past.

A true loyal Raider fan would want nothing whatsoever to do with that fraud football team in vegas,REAL Raider fans would cheer for only the OAKLAND Raiders. Same as how the Rams were a fraud team when they were in St. Louis.Because they were a phony fraud team same as the Raiders are now, I wanted Nothing whatsoever to do with the fraud team when they were in st louis as any real Ram fan would also have nothing to do with them.

the NFL is making a mockery of themselves and making it a circus league with all these asinine relocations, the Rams going back to LA was the only one that was justified and made sense.

This isn't the year to be a Raider fan. Late 70's and early 80s was the time. They were my team then. Best offensive line in NFL history. Art Shell, Gene Upshaw, Jim Otto, Dave Casper.

Won the 1977 Super Bowl on the ground (427 yards rushing), with 2 mediocre running backs (Mark Van Eeghen and Clarence Davis). They didn't need Marcus Allen. Their offensive line blew open holes in the Vikings' defensive line like I've never seen, and the Raider backs just ran right through them. Pretty hard to tackle a guy, when you're laying flat on your back.

In a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Raiders were 4th down and goal, from the 3 yard line. Ball went to short yardage specialist Pete Banaszak, and as he got to the goal line, Steeler linebacker Jack Lambert (one of the best) was coming at him. He got met by Gene Upshaw, and to this day, I never saw a defender leave my TV screen so fast. If you blinked, you might've missed it. Touchdown.

Since this thread is about wide receivers though, I'll give an honorable mention to 2 Raider WRs . Fred Belitnikoff and Cliff Branch.

Those Raider teams were loaded with talent. Hell...even the punter was the GOAT.

Maybe because I grew up watching Jerry Rice, I think he is way better then Moss. I didn't see much out of Moss that compared to Jerry Rice.
