Until a few years ago, the organization providing the most support for the Boy Scouts was the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints, AKA the “Mormons”. The Boy Scouts, which used to be very much in line with our values, have turned against our values, and we've dropped our support for them, creating our own internal organization to take its place.

If I'm not mistaken, the Catholics were the second-biggest supporters of the Boy Scouts, and the Boy Scouts have lost most of that support as well.
