One of the similarities I regularly see from both ends of the political spectrum is a complete lack of prior risk assessment.

They see an issue, create and implement a "fix" based on their ideological agenda, completely avoid an honest and serious analysis of the potential downside, and then seem surprised when it backfires.

What we see from fake phony lying TDS middlers is nothing. Absolutely nothing. Nothing of value. "Both sides?" Poppycock. Spewing that vile one-way TDS hatred 24-7 claiming we can do better but doing nothing at all.

We need a government that focuses on the values we share, and leaves the rest up to "the states or the people", as the Constitution instructs. Trying to force social change on people with laws is almost always a mistake.

That's what drives the culture warriors. They think that can impose higher standards (or, rather, their vision of higher standards) on everyone else via the state. But such standards are subjective and trying to codify them into law creates division and conflict that just doesn't need to be. Live-and-let-live is a far better way to go.



If we want to change society, we need to do it via persuasion - not coercion.

That's precisely where the Left went off the rails and ushered in Trumpism.
