Even in the military, disregarding an illegal order doesn't involve getting into a fight with the person giving the order. When you do, you're guilty of assaulting a superior officer.

If you are wrong, or even mistaken, you can face charges up to and including mutiny resulting in a long term in Leavenworth at best. Like with a cop, unless lives are at stake, the best thing is to register an objection and cooperate. Let the lawyers sort it out afterwards.
