That's a shame. I was unaware of his illness.

When I lived in San Diego, the band I was in would do "Hooked On A Feeling". Our bass player could absolutely nail the "I-ah-I-ah-I I'm hooked on a feeling" lyric. The first time I heard him sing it the hair on the back of my neck stood up. It was that good.

In that first video, he has a National Defense Service Medal and a Vietnam Service Medal pinned to his jacket, yet he never served. I have to believe he wore them in tribute...
