Kind of refreshing to see a post about the U.S. Military in the military forum for a change. The USMA offers a free quality education to people who were nominated by a congressman. Upon graduation they are required to serve five years in the Army. Not a bad deal for a quality education but political affiliation can turn a band of brothers into strange bedfellows and a hitch in the Army doesn't necessarily mean a successful politician.
