"What the bill does

"A new bill would suspend federal taxpayer funding for the 2022 and 2026 soccer World Cups, unless the U.S. Soccer Federation repeals its policies allowing players to kneel during the national anthem.

"The 2026 World Cup is scheduled to be held across multiple locations in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

"As far as GovTrack Insider can tell, this is the first legislation introduced regarding the 'kneeling for the national anthem' controversy."

What does it say about a "free country" that mandate$ patrioti$m?

You're free to kneel......if you'd like to forgo taxpayer funding.

Ain't nothing more American than restricting someone's freedom of speech.
Wrong. They are representing the United States. If they have a problem with it, they shouldn’t be on the team. They can “protest” all they want in their own personal time when not wearing the US team uniform.

That isn't how free speech works. But you know that. They are exemplifying everything this country is supposed to be about.

Freedom and patriotism are one and the same. Your kind sorely need to emigrate before it's too late for you.

In other news the mystical force of gravity is now causing people to "rise up" instead of fall down. This story and more at radical leftists are us. Be sure to check out the new triangle-shaped moon in tonight's sky. Oh, and don't miss our editorial proving water is now dry. Emigrate, scum.

Patriotism, the last refuge of the scoundrel. Samuel Johnson.

Trump likely would never have been elected without voter suppression, and he's already shown how much his 2020 chances hinge on ballot fraud:

Charges of Vote Stealing in Florida Portend More Distrust in System for 2020

  • Nov. 18, 2018
"TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The chaotic images out of Florida’s election recount last week — the brigade of Washington lawyers, the déjà vu meltdown of the tallying in Broward County, the vitriolic charges and countercharges — have prompted flashbacks among the electorate of the 2000 presidential election."

Yes, it is how freedom is speech works. Funny how it’s okay to get people fired from their jobs for criticizing BLM terrorists, yet not okay to fire a team member for breaking the team’s policy?

Yes, rightly or wrongly a private company can punish people for their speech unlike the government.

But this bill is going nowhere anyway.

Policy can't violate the Constitution.

Most Americans alive today have no memories of how free speech was treated during the "War to End All Wars."

"Rose Pastor Stokes, an activist and writer, was prosecuted under the Espionage Act of 1917, in part, for writing to a newspaper: 'I am for the people and the government is for the profiteers.'

"The Act criminalized attempting to cause insubordination to the war effort, willfully attempting to cause insurrection and obstructing the recruiting or enlistment of potential volunteers."

Free Speech During Wartime.

There are always authoritarians in government unfortunately. Luckily while a sad comment this is little more than political grandstanding.
