Bernie Sanders is NOT a Democrat.
He is NOT a member of the Democratic Party.
Bernie Sanders is a professed member of the Socialist Party.
Since their is no official Socialist Party in the US he is USING the Democratic Party to run for President.
Yesterday the Socialist Party, represented by Bernie Sanders, ran against the Democratic Party Representative Hillary Clinton
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders and the Socialist Party effectively tied establishment Democrat Hillary Clinton, scoring 695 delegates compared to Clinton’s 700.
Bernie and Hillary tied. Winner? Karl Marx!
Bernie Sanders almost won the Iowa Caucus (and might have if not for 6 straight coin flips to give Hillary districts/delegates) simply by preaching outright socialism.
---
The only reason that Hillary Clinton didn’t out and out lose is that Iowa skews older, and that she won six coin tosses. As Jessica Taylor wrote:The Vermont senator just couldn’t match the strength of the youth vote that Obama marshaled in 2008. Just 18 percent of the vote came from 17- to 29-year-olds — down from a 22 percent share eight years ago. Among those, Sanders dominated, winning 84 percent to Clinton’s 14 percent.
---
THAT means half the Democratic party's base in Iowa would prefer Sander's Socialist Agenda / Ideology / Vision to that of Barak Obama's and Hillary's ('3rd term Barak Obama').
"Bernie Sanders’s success is not going unnoticed by the younger generation of hipper, much more charismatic socialists like Van Jones. Jones has had to downplay his socialist background for years trying to play the establishment insider role but looking at the numbers that Bernie is racking up is probably going to make him think twice."
Obama and Hillary's vision for America is being beaten among their own ranks by a died-in-the-wool Karl Marx Socialist!
