Reportedly, at least one US governmental mouthpiece stated they saw a man load canisters of water in the back of the van that was targeted, clean water a luxury for many in Afghanistan. A sad case of affairs all way around; several kids were loaded up in the car excited to be leaving the country with their family who’d helped US allies and then- kaboom-the evening before they were leaving. The kids were in the car (according to Al Jazeera) because the young boys wanted to practice driving the car in the driveway to the house before coming to US.
