The temporary pause on pending applications will not affect already authorized exports, which, combined with existing plants, total 48 billion cubic feet per day (bcf/d) in export capacity. The Biden Administration believes a pause is needed because the last review of the impact of LNG occurred in 2018, before U.S. LNG exports started to substantially increase.

Uh, hold on there hoss. Saudi Arabia, have they not cut production? How can we be getting more? Venezuela, dude, there are like 18 supertankers waiting to be loaded in the ports of Amuay and Jose, they can't get it out of there, imports of crude from Venezuela are down, ask Chevron. And Russian imports have evaporated. And finally, we are a net crude oil exporter, not an importer.
