Biden wants to investigate why gasoline prices are higher

Okay. Of course, you could not possibly know the truth of this. But your bet is noted.
Ethanol is currently $2.22/gallon.

It used to be $1/gallon back in December.

So... exactly what effect do you think that has on gasoline prices regardless of what price oil is per barrel?

The airlines are also having a fuel shortage that is grounding planes. Especially the smaller airlines.
The airline industry has cut back routes and is begging for passengers for the routes they have. People aren't flying. The industry is working at about half of what it was over the same periods in 2019, things are moving in a positive direction, but airlines are not doing particularly well. They are discounted to bare bones--they are looking at a rough few years. Sales Statistics

I'll just stand over here and LMAO at you ridiculous post.

When Trump was POTUS we were entirely oil independent. No need for OPEC oil.

Once the stuttering fuck took over and undid all that Trump did he now want OPEC to produce more oil??

He also stopped drilling for oil on Fed lands and wants to end fracking. Gas was 1.70 a gallon under Trump. Its now 3.00 a gallon and rising.

Doesn't take much to understand who's at fault.

I'll stand over here and shake my head at how you entirely missed the sarcasm in my post.

Gas was .97 cents in April 2020 by the time Trump left office it was $2.20. Why did Trump let it get so high?

This is true...
But we usually bought some from various countries anyway... usually as part of some sort of financial dealing....but also that various types of LS Crude produce various products after being refined. Some makes lubricants and others make motor oil or fertilizer or plastics or something else that we might have a need for.

We swap oil all the time for the thousands of products we use on a regular basis....not just gasoline or diesel. We might produce as much as we use...but that doesn't mean that all petroleum products can come from the petroleum we actually produce.

What, seven months (?) after surrendering our energy independence Biden is already on his knees, begging OPEC to save us by producing more oil?

This is a massive admission that his f*ed up policies are massive failures!

The White House on Thursday asked the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to look into high gas prices, across the nation.
Republicans have blamed Biden's shift toward green energy, which includes nixing the Keystone XL pipeline permit and pausing new federal oil and gas leases.

The Kleptocrats are LIARs.
They want higher gasoline prices.
We (Texas) want higher gas prices.

Thanks, Joe.

We just renovated Kyle Field with $500 million.

Keep it up Joe. Will tear that bitch down and build a brand spanking new $50 billion stadium.

Ummm...
Surplus Inventories have been falling... supply has remained constant. That makes the futures prices for crude oil increase.

Supply is a result of pumping the oil out of the ground. It only comes out so fast and gets refined at a specific rate.

Demand changes as people and industry use more or less.

It's supply and demand economics...one of the most basic of economic principles...

Not sure why you are having issues understanding.
You obviously haven't dealt with Fort before, John! He wouldn't know an "economic principle" if it ran up his leg and bit him on the willy! Oh and by the way...if you point that out...you're a "racist"!

Sugar is also in tight supply (so is corn) which is the main way ethanol is produced.

And if you look at the price of ethanol it's sky high at the moment.

Don't expect anything to get better anytime soon unless Biden does an absolute reversal of his policies.

What Biden really wants is to look like he's doing something about the problem or trying to look like it. And of course he wants somebody else to shift the blame to for his own mistakes.
