Actually that's par for the course for the Palestinians. It is not ok to make any agreement with Hamas and the thought of leaving them in control of Gaza is unthinkable.

How else do you explain Trump’s about-face on Iran, from advocating a “maximum pressure” strategy during his first term to announcing in September that he’s open to talks with the Iranian regime?

The Palestinians remain committed to the destruction of Israel and determined to continue their war until it is achieved, so there is no solution to the conflict until they become convinced, they can never destroy Israel and start thinking about how to live in peace with Israel.

Like most Americans (not you), I applaud the recent ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas that was approved today by the Israeli security cabinet, and I was glad to learn that the incoming Trump administration was directly involved in support of the Biden team in the most positive way: by telling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that a deal had to be made.

You can't deprive them of military aid, Trump wants to play act and pretend he's into saving money but he won't interfere with the the US socialist support for Israel, he is powerless.
Who's going to stop them? That's all the Israelis have been doing since 1948. They're already forcing West Bank Palestinians out of their homes, they already started to build settlements in Golan.
That's not true, many of Trump's picks are rabid Zionists who share the dream of Israel more than any dream they have about the United States. Even if Trump doesn't care there are plenty of people close to him who care very much.
