Israel bombed an embassy. Israel took it to a new level that threatens to expand the conflict. That was not a “defensive” move, it was a strategic mistake. Bomb Hezbollah. Bomb the Houthis. But you start targeting embassies and you are changing the scale of the conflict.
Iran is not alone in proxy warfare. The US has a pretty damning record there too, particularly in South America. Oh…and Iran…you know, 1953….when the US and Britain instigated a coup to over throw a democratically elected PM and install tbe Shah who was so hated he was overthrown and the Mullah’s took control? Would you be ok if any of these groups bombed one of our consulates and escalated the conflict from a simmer to a full regional war between larger powers? Oops Iran did. Did you support it?
Dangerous games to play.
