You don't seem to cara about the fact that taxpayers have to subsidize these workers because they can't make ends meet on anything near the minimum wage. Worth noting that in deep red Arkansas, voters passed a increase in the state minimum wage to $10 a hour with over 60% of the vote. How about having some sympathy for workers.

If a state wants to increase their own minimum wage, that's fine, it's on them. But there should be no national minimum wage at all. When a state with high minimum wage loses businesses, they lose them to states like mine. However when there are no states to move to because everybody has to have a 15.00 minimum wage, the only place they can move is out of the country taking their jobs with them, and that's what you're going to see happen.

Okay, but what about companies that pay over $15.00 an hour now? Their employees will demand higher pay. You don't work at a company for five years, work your way up to $15.00 an hour, then the Communists bring you back to minimum wage. You are going to demand at least five or six dollars over MW to stay with that company, and this creates a domino effect which again, will chase more jobs out of the country.

Bottom line that you leftists don't get is that when you dramatically increase wages coast to coast, inflation and the cost of living also dramatically increases. That means people who are working MW now will find themselves in the exact same boat in a couple of years because all that new money will go towards the much higher costs of things they always had. They gain nothing and may even lose in the end.

Absolutely correct. Taxpayers should not be subsidizing people who optionally decide not to make themselves more valuable to employers. We should quit subsidizing those people so they try harder and become more productive people in our society.

On my last job we had customers that used temporary services exclusively. It gave them an opportunity to try people out first before hiring them. If they worked at the company for several months successfully, they were offered a full-time job when one became available. They paid the temp services a contract price if they hired any of the temp company workers.

It also gave companies the ability to fluctuate their staff based on business activity. When they got busy and asked the temp workers if they could work overtime, many refused. Why is that? Because it would interfere with their government stipend. They were allowed to make X amount of money. If they made more than that, it was deducted from their food stamp allowance. In fact in states that increased their MW to $15.00 an hour, employees demanded to work less hours so they could stay under that government limit.

For instance Australian minimum wage is about 15.29 USD.

Yet higher or medium wages have remained stagnant for well over a decade. (That includes factoring in the huge wage increases of mining which is a world unto it's own.)

Proving minimum wage increases do not fuel wage inflation in higher paid sectors if the economy is not already in an inflationary upswing.

The US is to the contrary in a deflationary down turn.

Most economic models suggest a minimum wage set at 50% of the medium income not only is not inflationary but adds dramatic consumer demand to the economy. 15 dollars an hour is below that 50% threshold.

Is that what it does? Okay. So if $15.00 an hour is good for our economy, why not make it better with a $25.00 minimum wage? And if $25.00 an hour is better, why not make it the best at $30.00 an hour?

Unlike Australia, the US is fighting to keep our jobs here; government regulations, taxation, and yes, the most significant cost--labor. We've been losing companies and jobs since the 70's, and we don't need that to go on steroids. Companies that don't have to stay won't. They'd sooner move operations overseas and send products back.

It is very reasonable. Biden can't do any worse with the coronavirus virus than Trump did. Since the election, Trump has been consumed with overtutning the election to the exclusion of anything else. Distribution of vaccines has turned into a nightmare and it has allowed the coronavirus to mutate into types that are easier to spread which will make it even harder for distribution of vaccines to catch up. Bedewn's coronavirus relief bill makes more sensew than what Republicans put together. I agree with some of Biden's policies and some I do not. However that is a better batting average than Trump. He did very little right.
