Huh, the country is falling back into the hands of the Taliban, and Biden is dropping bombs on them again.
Plus he is “fast tracking” people that supposedly helped us to get them visas and into the US. How is taking all the moderately good people out of country going to help it in the long term? Shouldn’t they be staying there to rebuild it and stand against the radical Muslims?

The question is why did Bush stop? He had Ben Ladin surrounded in the Tora Bora mountains and he let him go. Why? He needed a boogyman to continue the war for profit for Chaney's Haloburton.

Bush did not let him go......the problem was the General overseeing the effort to get Bin Laden was incompetent....General Tommy Franks.

It's like backing away from a dead enemy's vicious dog. You can't just turn around and run away because automatically they'll give chase and bite you in the ass.

Afghanistan is lost, lets face it. We've sucked since Vietnam, too many men behind desks making decisions.
Ironic since the Pentagon was built that we have generals with polished shoes, on the other side of the planet from the actual action, and across the Potomac from the White House (anyone else surprised that name isn't called racist yet) that the decisions have been far more about politics than any decisive military victory which includes not just the wins in battle but the establishment of the end game.

Meaning, since the Pentagon, the US always screws that up royally. Victory needs to be followed by making certain the enemy doesn't establish themselves again.

That may indeed take years, but logistical reality is a part of war and if we aren't willing to be thorough then we shouldn't get involved at all.

War is a lot more than using shiny new toys cooked up in by the industry. Then again.....

On Jan. 17, 1961, President Dwight Eisenhower gave the nation a dire warning about what he described as a threat to democratic government. He called it the military-industrial complex, a formidable union of defense contractors and the armed forces.

The military is always going to find a reason to escalate rather than retreat withdraw

Bush is a fraud...he was never a conservative and he was hamstrung by Saudi Arabian oil and they didn't want Bin Ladin killed.....GW is a very stupid man...Trump made us energy independent and we were not held hostage by the middle east....Biden just reversed that in less than 6 months....Biden is just a bit left of the Bush's....but not much.....

Bush is a moron no doubt but it was not that he did not want Bin Laden killed....neither he, rumsfeld or General Tommy Franks understood what needed to be done...they let other political factors interfere with the advise they were getting from on the scene commanders.....very similar to how Clinton also failed to get bin laden when he had a great opportunity.

Now if you compound all the errors made by the above and multiply it by 10 ...you get Bidens policies.

The are destroying equipment left behind, it's a good move.
If you win the war before you leave/surrender this wouldn't be necessary....we got beat...thanks to Generals like this suck up....

Bush was deathly afraid of rising oil prices...if SA said jump Bush asked how high....it was a public relations war....made to look like we were doing something for 9-11....

We got "beat" because there was nothing to win.
We got beat because our leaders lost their nerve....if you are going to go into a war....go in it to win it....every time I see Bush with men and women that lost limbs in the sand it makes me sick....

We had so many rules of engagement that we couldn't fight effectively...we couldn't leave green zones because we weren't given the tools to defend ourselves....civilians were intermixed with enemy fighters and it hamstrung our Generals....

Our officers on the ground looked like fools being lied to over and over again by Afghan tribal leaders...they would laugh at us....

We never had a chance to win....we are too afraid to do what needs to be done in war....kill the enemy regardless of civilian casualties....

Until we rid ourselves of that fear we are ineffective as a military power....

What exactly were we supposed to "win"?

What exactly were we supposed to "win"?
Security at home....make the enemy that attacked us an example for the world to see what happens to anyone that takes part in killing Americans...a deterrent....instead we decided to nation build....
