They staged the raid on Mara-Lago so that when Biden gets caught with all of the documents he hid from congress it provides a form of inoculation from guilt.

Trump only had personal copies, with private annotations no one else is supposed to see.
So it was totally illegal for the FBI to break into Mar-a-lago illegally and steal personal papers.

The raid would not have been conducted without approval by Biden, since the legal and political fallout is obvious.
But the main point is that the raid was criminal, so Biden is still legally liable because he has done nothing to return the papers to their legal owner.

Actually, only a sitting president can say anything about documents held by the previous president due to executive privilege. A warrant actually couldn't have been done, that was illegal. The ex president had executive privilege. The entire raid was illegal.
