It was the medical profession being led by some very unqualified and uninformed advisors in the Trump administration that caused 1.1 million people to die. They died from treatment with the wrong drugs, from the improper use of respirators, from the improper quarantine procedures, and other aspects from experiencing a virus that nobody knew anything about.

Now you being one who believes in an all-seeing, all knowing benevolent government whose job it is to be responsible for everything, probably believe that President Trump was a virologist and a medical professional, which he wasn't. He knew as little about that new virus, as did anyone else. And of course, you blamed him for it, not the Chinese who actually developed the virus as a biological weapon.

Now in their usual fashion, incoming Democrats derided the Trump administration’s playbook for
distributing coronavirus vaccines, and made only modest changes to Trump's plan to meet the target pace of more than one million shots a day. Instead they opted for mask mandates which did very little to curb the spread of COVID, and interfered with the existing career staff who are working on the vaccine rollout. Then to top it all off, the Biden administration retained Anthony Fauci, who didn't have a fucking clue how to deal with such a pandemic.
