There might no have been an Iraq war without his strong support for it, and bankruptcy reform might have passed that would have allowed poor people to keep their homes when declaring bankruptcy if Joe hadn't campaigned against it, and think of all those black students who would have been bussed to white schools if Joe hadn't led the fight against school bussing, and if Joe hadn't pushed through a crime bill forcing states to adopt a three strikes sentencing rule if they accepted federal money for prisons, literally tens of thousands of non violent offenders might be walking the streets right now.

Actually, Biden, Kerry and Clinton campaigned in the Senate to support the war, but of the three, Biden's support was special in that he told the Senate he had personally reviewed all the intelligence and and concluded that the President should have the power to go to war in Iraq if he thought it necessary. In fact, while the intelligence records were made available to all Senators, records showed that Biden never accessed them.

As always with Joe, it's hard to tell whether he is lying or is having another psychotic break with reality in which he can't distinguish between fantasy and reality as when he really believed he had pinned a Medal of Honor on a soldier when he had not or when he claimed he had been arrested while trying to visit Mandela when he had not been.

In any case during his political career in the Senate on important issues Joe voted more often with Republicans than with Democrats.
