It can take off fast though, my neighbor had a "slow growing" cancer and was getting the 6 month check-ups, he was 71, one day a pain in his back made him go in the hospital , it was a tumor, and the prostate cancer killed him in less than a month.

My Dad had heart surgery, but prostate cancer killed him 5 years later.
