Amid the worsening border crisis, the Biden administration has cancelled the remaining contracts for the border wall project spearheaded under the Trump administration.
Construction on the wall sections in the Laredo and Rio Grande Valley sectors will be halted, the Department of Homeland Security announced Friday in a press release.

How much does a sound barrier fence cost?

The flexibility in noise abatement decision-making is reflected by data indicating that some States have built many noise barriers and some have built none. Through the end of 2004, 45 SDOTs and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico have constructed over 2,205 linear miles of barriers at a cost of over $2.6 billion ($3.4 billion in 2004 dollars). Five States and the District of Columbia have not constructed noise barriers to date. A detailed listing of noise barrier data may be found in "Summary of Noise Barriers Constructed by December 31, 2004." The paper that follows presents a brief analysis of the data contained in the detailed barrier listing.

Don't ever let Democrats lie to you and tell you they aren't for open borders.

If the wall was bad for America, Democrats would build 2.
Give them working papers and they will go back and forth on their own
We survived 200 years without a wall

Cuz they're tarded. BTW, from my experience sound walls are mostly worthless. Especially where there's one on both sides of the road. I looked at a house for a friend and NOPE..........The only peace on the property was in the garage.

Can't say the same for border fences, but that doesn't stop PROGS from doing so. You know, the same MFers who lock their doors at night while they parrot idiocracy with "if someone wants to get over the fence they'll get over the fence"..........

Sound walls have great effect traffic noise and nobody cares if people jump over them. Border walls only stop those not willing or able to scale a fence or wall. Any and all young people can scale a fence. They are a patronage contract perks to favored construction companies, and several sections have already had to be repaired/replaced due only to weather or erosion, representing a continuing maintenance expense for marginal benefit.
If you want to go with 2 inexpensive 6ft chain link with a minefield between them, surveilled with armed drones, fine with me. I do not really care if people die trying to break into our country, but the border wall as envisioned and being built won't stop people, drugs, or contraband moving in and out or effect people overstaying their visas.

Huh it had never dawned on me that's what those were. Makes sense

We should just take a few cartel members who deserve death anyway, convict them in a secret court because we already do that anyway, pretend they were just randomly crossing the border. Then video tape anonymous border patrol agents executing them with the strong implication it was for crossing (don't have to be real border patrol i don't think executions are in their job description)

Let that go viral

There done. At the very least no one sane will be coming who isn't used to very high risk activity. No man anyway. IDK how many women there are we can justify just executing like that.

Make working on a temp visa a legal alternative, and I think the problem goes away?

JoeXi a CIA puppet, gets his sound-wall arrogance from catholic theologians who don’t like interruptions..

Anything that doesn't have Trump's stamp on it, Biden is for. So this is just their alternative way to continue with a barrier, but without Trump being any longer in the work orders as they continue onward. How disgusting are these people that they will go around a mountain if Trump is standing in the gap waving them through to the other side, and worse they are dragging the American people around the mountain with them, and all because they want to prove a point that Trump was no good even if they have nothing but butt hurt that says for them that it's true.

Well, er, you see, we can't afford a border wall now that we've lost 28 billion in hardware to the Taliban!

Just cointinuing to vomit Democrats propaganda.

White Guy: Duh, dar, a Mexican father will carry his wife, children and all their belongings over a wall that military special forces couldn't cross, duh, dar, drool.

Sure they will, Democrat automaton, sure they will ...

Then why do you lock your doors? Why do you lock your car? I also bet you live behind a fence or even a wall!
Yet it is ok for criminals to cross illegally? Wow. What a hypocrite!

I don’t always lock my doors, you can get in through the garage
I have a fence, but it is to keep the dog in not to keep people out

Criminals should be sent back…..hard workers should be given temporary working papers

Please prove to me where “hard-working “ non-Illegals” are being convicted and sent back? Please offer proof that happens?

You must live in a small town where as the theme song from tv show .."Cheers"... "Where everybody knows your name"
I grew up in that kind of town and agree we hardly ever locked our doors!

But when our President says "surge to the border"

this is the results!

The murder of nursing student Laken Riley in Athens, Georgia, by an illegal immigrant from Venezuela with outstanding charges was one of the first stories to raise the alarm in late February. But it’s far from the only one.
NOTE: Homicides by illegal criminals Jumped from 3 in 2020 to 60 in 2021... a 1,900% INCREASE in one year
probably due to Biden's "surge to the border" !
