Bernie Sanders espouses more Christian values than any of the other presidential candidates

William Bradford tried Christian socialism. Read what he found out.

There is something putrid about putting Bernie Sanders into the seat of national pastor to shepherd us into Christian socialism as he sees it. Are we all Christians now?

We have clearly deduced that
I don't think Jesus wanted people to be FORCED against their will to take care of other people. He taught they should want to do it out of the goodness of their hearts. You know, being a Christian. A Christian doesn't mean "involuntary servitude" and forced "wealth redistribution".
Hed want us to speak up against corruption. That's what he died over, remember?
What does giving away everything in life for free have to do with corruption?
We are being fleeced. With all modern labour saving devices there is no need for everyone to work. Its absurd.

Remember when Jesus chided the Romans to pay their "Fair share" and railed against the Roman 1%?

Yeah, me neither

Progressive talking Jesus makes nails on a blackboard sound like Mozart

Yup

Jesus used to scream at the poor....Get a JOB!

No, he was quite clear. "Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's."
Ah so he was a big government, high tax fellow?

Sure, it's like saying Einstein's formula was e=m.

Again, Progressives and the Bible is like a school for the blind reviewing impressionist paintings
This is an economic discussion. Progressives only deal with social issues.

While I'm not sure Jesus is quoted as saying anything that is exactly on point, it doesn't take much analysis to see that Senator Sanders advocates massive government theft.

He is not saying, "Let's support the poor and provide education to everyone who wants it," he is saying, "We can make ourselves feel good by taking money from The Rich, in order to pay for "free" benefits to The Poor." Where is HIS charity in all this? Or the charity of his audience? It is non-existent. He describes taking money FROM SOMEONE ELSE in order to do what he thinks is "charitable."

His proposals are sophomoric. He is a child of the 60's who never grew up because he has never actually had a job.

He is a walking argument for the proposition that nobody who doesn't pay income taxes should ever be allowed to vote.

Are you really THAT fucking ignorant?

You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter.

Actually, he died for trying to incite rebellion against the state. Not entirely unlike LaVoy Finicum. So I think I'll pass on Jesus like candidates.

Yep, and I think he had the rich people who didn't need him anymore in mind...which are on the left.....good luck with that analogy in the future though.

While I am reading this thread I picture my CCD instructor's head exploding.
Agreed.

Everyone is comparing a Jew as potential president ruling compared to Christian values?

I just watched Total Recall the other day for the first time in years. Classic!

My boy and I watch both of them side by side.

He usually doesn't like old movies. But he is a HUGE Arnold fan.

He thinks the remake is a waste of time. He wants to read the book.

From what he has heard, the book takes place on Mars, so he doesn't understand the whole thinking behind the remake.

The remake is sort of just, a waste.

You could have just said, "I have no idea, but I feel I must add a quote to sound relevant"

What < you > think doesn't matter too much.

Society has LEARNED through thousands of years of history, that people are greedy and selfish and most DO NOT give voluntarily.

Those who claim they should not be forced to give are the very ones who MUST be forced to give.

They just claim they shouldn't be forced because they are unwilling to give in the first place and, if not forced, would not help anyone. They would not give their grandmother 50 cents.

THEY ARE ASSHOLES who should be executed --- well that might be a bit much :)
