My Dad was one of the British Soldiers there, i have some photos he brought home which i didn't know he had until i was about 16 years old, they are of some of the locations in that vid and of some of those SS guards, Dads unit went away but returned some time later and the British Soldiers burning the place down were the Lothians a Scottish Regiment, when i was older he told me he lived with the sight and smell of that place all his life

Dad told me after the war when he was a civilian again some mornings when he woke up he could smell Belsen he with some other soldiers went into some of the barrack huts where the prisoners live if you can call it that, they found many dead prisoners and wore gas masks.

My uncle was never right after Normandy, either. He told me about it one time.
Out of all my life, he only told me once.
Yeah, his buddy was there with him from the beginning until they stepped onto the beach,
boot camp, all that, then his buddy's leg got blown off and flew right by his face and they were in this artillery crater,
and his friend was still alive for a minute or 2 and he held him until he died. That's a long minute or 2.
