It's true that it was a stupid thing for a politician to say, but nevertheless is a perfectly reasonable proposition.

Not really. Teh Constitution specifically forbids a religious test for office. Carson could have said "Anyone who supports Muslim domination over the West is unfit to be president" and I would have agreed with him. He could have said a bunch of things or nothing and come out better.

The libs would still be attacking him. He never said the law should be changed to a Muslim can't become president.
