Then burn those people for it. It doesn't change anything in this thread.
He first played in 67 ( so he saw the Change from the past to the future )
You burn them, you're the race police right?
No, I am not the race police. Simply pointing out that racism happened is not being a racist. It is being a realist.
Is it racism if it doesn't serve as an obstacle?
Yes, it is. If someone says "The ****** can't eat here" it is racism.
Brother Jesse talks about an important answer given by Reggie Jackson to a simple question from Alex Rodriguez about being in the Major Leagues. Jackson chronicles the racism he was forced to endure at the hands of White people throughout his career.
Reggie Jackson is younger than my father, and I'm not even 50 yet!!
This answer should be instructive for people who stupidly argue that racism hasn't existed in America for a long time and act as though it is ancient history.
Like Oakland ?Yes, he did. But the Change came slower to some places.
"For white people, their identities rest on the idea of racism as about good or bad people, about moral or immoral singular acts, and if we're good, moral people, we can't be racist - we don't engage in those acts."Well, I highly doubt that. Considering the actions of the empire of Japan and the third Reich. Slavery existing in parts of Africa up until the 1930s. No, we did not do bigotry better than any other country. Arguably the USA was the most liberal country in the world throughout its existence.
Ask an Indian What he thinks about the British. That’s just one example of many.
Here in 2024 we should have equality. Not racism from the left or the right. We have widespread racism from the left wing against white Christian men in this country. Major organizations, media outlets, Hollywood all giving easier access to people based on being a so-called minority. So much for meritocracy.
The sooner we have equality, the better off we will all be.

Like Oakland ?
So you don't believe in state's rights?Or Alabama
So you don't believe in state's rights?

Even with all of the racism he had to endure. No one denies racism exists.
Didn't seem to effect Jackson's career though, he was very successful.
Of course racist don't care.Poor boy.
That's his way of deflecting and making excuses for racism and discrimination in America, you never hear any of these cowards claim Jewish folks weren't the only people to face a Holocaust, you never hear them claim Japanese Americans weren't the only folks put in internment camps, but their hatred for black folks runs so deep they will never admit the wrongs that were done to us. Someone needs to ask that idiot Franklin when reparations became a handout. No, we weren't the only country with bigotry. We did do it better than anyone else.
No one is using any of this to gain an advantage over anyone. It is to tell the truth about how things were. Some of the greatest athletes at the time were refused basic services because of their race.
Oh that's easy..... whenever it came time for Black people to get them.
