Stupak has announced his retirement. What are usmb's opinion on this.

Sorry if there's another thread on this already.

Stupak is a stooge. He has guaranteed his legacy. He caved on a moral stance at the exact moment when resolve would have greatly benefited the country.

His district is the epitome of Catholic blue collar union country. They'll elect another pro-labor, pro-life Democrat who's exactly like him.

He's an idiot. He pitched a fit wanting a provision that didn't exist to be removed, pissing off liberals in the process, then ended up voting for the bill, pissing off conservatives.

Another hypocrite bites the dust.
Indeed...

Bart Stupak Hounded from Office

And rightfully so. Another Phoney 'Statesman' runs away from his constituients.
Democrats do a lot of that...running away from their constituents, running away from fights...it must be their inherent pacifist nature. It's really too bad that they just couldn't stand on their principles.....I bet Obama has already torn up that executive order.
