Barak was raised primarily by his white mother, and grand-parents who made sure that Barack that was well educated, spoken, read and on a path that would bring success, regardless his professional path. Barack doesn't represent the poor, single-mother, fatherless, and urban lifestyle that many Blacks identify with today.

The biggest travesty of the black community is hitching onto Barack's, only partial identity of being black. What the community should be doing, praising and attempting to emulate is the path that led to Barack's professional and political success. What has done more for Barack is his education and personal and professional life choices. But instead we hear... "FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT". Okay great. Now emulate that person. But nope, instead we continue to see the black community stricken with the same habitual social patterns that pin them down to poverty, systemic welfare, and crime ridden communities.

If the black community really cared about their first black president, they would be emulating the man as well.
