Remember, any rationale that the DOJ dreams up for prosecuting Obumma for the 2016 and 2020 election will likely be used to try to go after Trump soon as he leaves office in 3.5 years.

Far more likely to feel the hammer of Justice are Comey, Brennan, Clapper, Rice and several others. They have no federal immunity to anything.

The SCOTUS ruling gave Presidents cover for making mistakes or for doing unpopular things in their official capacity as President.

It did NOT give Presidents cover for deliberately doing illegal things that are not part of a President's constitutional responsibilities/authority.

The problems is that the Constitution gives the sole authority to discipline a President to the U.S. Congress--the House impeaches, i.e. 'indicts' and the Senate holds the trial. If the President is found guilty of a high crime or misdemeanor he/she can be removed from office and denied ability to run for high office again. There is no penalty specified beyond that.

The fact is, a President MUST be protected against those who disagree with/oppose him in his official capacities or else he is effectively prevented from doing his job. I am pretty sure Bondi knows this and I will be VERY surprised should she bring federal charges against Barack Obama or Joe Biden as I am pretty sure she would see that as outside her specific authority.

We the people should demand a press that properly vets these people, exposes ALL their plusses and ALL their dirty linen so that we do not elect scoundrels and dangerous deep state operatives to high office. When we do, we are pretty much stuck with what we elect.

Brennan, Comey, Clapper et al, however, have no such constitutional protection. If they are as guilty as it appears they are, I hope she throws the book at them. But again, I've seen too many of these scandals come and go and am not holding my breath.
