What does the recession have to do with raising the debt ceiling? It's your position that during a recession, when the government has less revenue than ever because there are less working people to tax than ever, the federal government should increase spending?!?

What is more telling is that Obama said our debt at $7 trillion was "irresponsible", "unpatriotic", and a "failure of leadership" - and that was $10 trillion BEFORE we hit the $17 trillion we're currently at.

Hi Rottweiler: I have yet to see party leaders on any side talk about paying taxpayers back for past misspending or abuses, but only blame each other for spending more of future taxes.

So unless they talk about holding the actual govt leaders and corporations responsible for where our money had gone all this time that got us over our heads in debt, and talk about paying it back over time, then ALL these arguments are distractions from real solutions.

I wouldn't necessarily call it a strawman. more like using each other as whipping boys.

You take a statement, and use that to whip or slap someone around with it.

And it does nothing to solve the real problem of why can't we hold people responsible
for paying back money they abused their govt or corporate positions to spend
that we can show weren't lawful or Constitutional, but unethical conflicts of interest
and/or weren't the most effective and efficient means to achieve tasks,
and thus VIOLATED the Code of Ethics for Govt Service for federal govt:

We need to start holding the specific parties responsible who spent our tax money,
set up federal reserve accounts to lend against this debt and charge it to the wrongdoers not to us,
while using those credits to pay for the work and create jobs FIXING whatever was neglected or broken
while the money went into pockets of private interests, conflicting contractors, or campaign contributors or whatever it went.

We have enough lawyers and lawschools in the country furious with both parties,
we can surely form teams to go after all of them, pay law students/interns on commission
to collect millions in paybacks on our behalf as defrauded/abused taxpayers forced into slavery to work for govt,
and not submit to the insanity of paying any more taxes if our money we already spent could have paid to fix the problems already.
why keep charging us more for these mistakes they haven't even paid us back from the past, thinking they are immune or can't be held accountable?

They can be if we treat them like employees that work for us.

I'm a Democrat and can barely find any, maybe John Cusack
who will stand up at all. I go after addressing problems within the party
as a peer with focus on Constitutional integrity. So you can imagine
how outraged I am all the time at this craziness going on.

The concept of setting up and running this whole health care thing

The saddest thing is he doesn't need to try. Obama has no problem defeating himself without any outside help required. Rottweiler is venting grief and steam over things that are already failed conflicts. Victoria Jackson also wept for America when Obama got re-elected. Nothing we can say is going to fix this. The work it WILL take requires resolving all this grief first if we are going to work together effectively. It will take the entire nation if not the world collaborating on solutions since we can't afford these problems. If America cannot even stand united yet, we need to get through this first, before we can lead the world to fix these same problems plaguing every country and sector of the economy.

Jake I hope you can reach out and learn to have more compassion for those who are deeply aggrieved right now. It's going to take all of us putting our best ideas to work to fix this country and world economy.
