The REAL reason Cesar Chavez is now being expunged was his adamant OPPOSITION to illegal immigrants.

The rape charges against Cesar Chavez, often involving minors, have been known since the 70s. But Cesar Chavez was seen as a champion for the farm worker so the Farm Worker's Union and other powerful people ignored the victims. But now all of sudden 50 years later and 30 years after Chavez' death, the rape charges have been "DISCOVERED" and oh boy you've never seen a faster dismantling of a former hero. In Southern Arizona they've already taken down his statues, painted over the murals, renamed streets and parks. The pro Illegal Immigration forces have deemed Chavez an enemy and that's all folks. They will probably force all the school books to be modified as well.

Oh I see why. The TITLE of the Duke University article referenced a term that is one of the banned words on USMB. It begins with 'wet' and ends with 'back'.
That word was x'd out by USMB software...rendering your link useless.

Wow, you mean he was the opposite of Ronnie Reagan?

Reagan’s immigration views:
  • "Open Border" Rhetoric (1980): During his 1980 campaign, Reagan advocated for a cooperative border with Mexico, suggesting that instead of a fence, the countries could "open the border both ways" for workers to move legally, earn wages, and pay taxes.

  • Support for Legalization (Amnesty): Reagan believed in legalizing undocumented immigrants who had "put down roots" and lived in the U.S., which he supported during debates and eventually signed into law.

When Republicans Spoke with Empathy on Immigration

Ronald Reagan's last speech

BTW, THE REASON CHAVEZ WAS ANTI UNDOCUMENTED

Chavez and the United Farm Workers (UFW) regarded undocumented immigrants as a major source of strikebreakers used by growers to crush strikes, particularly during the 1960s and 1970s.

Shift Over Time:
While he was fierce against undocumented workers being used to break strikes, others, including his son, noted he was fighting against the exploitation of workers, not necessarily against immigrants themselves, and he often focused on protecting all who worked in the fields.

Another irrelevant post. The subject is WHY HAS CESAR CHAVEZ SUDDENLY BEING EXPUNGED? Try again or better yet, move along.

Hint it just RECENTLY was found out

Mar 20, 2026 — An investigation by The New York Times found extensive evidence that the United Farm Workers co-founder groomed and sexually abused girls

The reporters interviewed several women who told their stories for the first time, as well as more than 60 other people, including Cesar Chavez’s top aides and relatives. The reporters also reviewed hundreds of pages of union records, confidential emails, photographs and other material.

...The two women have not shared their stories publicly before, and an investigation by The New York Times has uncovered extensive evidence to support their accusations and those raised by several other women against Mr. Chavez, the United Farm Workers co-founder who died in 1993 at the age of 66.
