Sure. Why not? No need to actually follow the rules for the championship when you can just proclaim you are the Champions.
Alabama beat another team in the SEC
Makes them "SEC Champs"
UCF are undefeated champs
Alabama had a pretty good year
They showed they are the best in the SEC
Safety was way too late getting to the ball.He thought he had help from the Safety.I went to bed after the first half. Thought for sure Georgia would win. Bama looked like shit in the first half. You must have watched a different game.
Winning the championship in OT is not boring to me.
How does that Georgia cornerback let that guy get so wide open? I feel for the that kid. Major F**K up.

That's an understatement. They should have rushed three men and kept everyone else deep to prevent the touchdown...and they would have won. The coaching staff screwed up.Safety was way too late getting to the ball.He thought he had help from the Safety.I went to bed after the first half. Thought for sure Georgia would win. I couldn't believe the way Georgia's defense played that.

What they should do is blitz the guy on every down. Play man-to-man press coverage and hope your rush gets to him. Chuck the WR at the line of scrimmage and impede his pattern so the rush has the time they need to get him. It worked on the play before sacking him at the 42 yd line pushing him out of FG range. Alabama had to score a TD because they figured their kicker was gonna choke again. So you know what they're going to do. Just leave it to the defense to stop it.
That's what Kirby had back there. The QB looked off the Safety and then chucked a pass to the WR who had run right past the CB. The CB never touched the guy. He ran right past him without being chucked at the line. The Safety was slow to react and the guy caught a perfect pass on a full run and was in the Endzone before the Safety could realize what happened. It was bad coaching but even more so a totally screwed up coverage. I think Kirby Smart thought Alabama was gonna throw something underneath or just run the ball. This was set up by the way Alabama was running the ball effectively during the second half. Nick Saban just outsmarted him by going for it right after a devastating sack for negative yardage. If they had done that who knows what would have happened. That's an understatement. They should have rushed three men and kept everyone else deep to prevent the touchdown...and they would have won. There should have been a safety staying behind everything. There should have been aggressive play from the cornerbacks.
I'm betting Kirby Smart is still chewing asses for that play. But it was a damn pretty pass.
